Elettaria cardamomum
This oil is obtained by steam distillation from a perennial bushy
herb seed native from the Northern part of Guatemala. The
plantations are located at an altitude ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 ft. where the
soil is fairly moist and retentive of water. Crop time is during September
through March. It is used as flavoring in confectionery, bakery, sausages,
beverages, spicy sauces, curry preparation. Also used in cosmetic, medicine,
natural medicine, aromatherapy industries. It is a very popular seasoning in
Oriental and Middle East dishes.
