Myroxylon Pereirae

Exuded from the trunk of the tree and contains gum resin and a volatile oil that has a balsamic and aromatic odor a combination of vanilla and cinnamon. Its tree grows 15 to 23m height in Central America, often is a shade tree. 

It is used as stimulant, expectorant and parasiticide.  Destroys the acarus and its eggs and is used as sulphur ointment.  Due to this is used for skin deseases such as pruritis, eczema and scabies.  Increase blood pressure.   As expectorant helps chronic bronchitis and asthma.  It may cause dermatitis in individuals who have a sensitivity to benzoin resinoids.  It is used for cosmetic, soaps, pharmaceutical and natural medicine industries.
